Meaningful? No. Accurate? Yes. What's meaningful is relative to the individual. What is accurate is not.

  1. Well, there's also rationalist epistemology. That's if your definition of 'universe' includes philosophical and abstract concepts.

  2. The question was kind of vague about that. I don't think you can empirically research which cake icing tastes better or which rock song has the best guitar solo. I guess these things are technically part of the Universe, but I would assume people using the word meant it as our physical plane of existence, rather than everything ever.
